Is a painter and sculptor born in Mallorca, with a certain formal primitivism, classical subtlety and the groundbreaking gesture of the avant-garde. He is moved by passion and believes that imperfection is one of the parts of human greatness and art, since he always works at the behest of instinct, a magical game where beauty alone brings a lot of truth. His work, bathed in the Mediterranean, is a song of faith and love to life, trying to unite the world with men and men with the forces of nature.
«The strength of common sense, thought, beauty, balance and harmony is why I feel part of and share the same humanity with the past. I have not finished the journey and there is still a long way to go for humans to create stable bonds between us and with nature»
"The new Ithaca of the Mediterranean" is a book illustrated with images from the permanent sculpture exhibition of Can Picafort, Son Serra de Marina and Santa Margalida that bears the same name, and includes the texts of two great writers who made Mallorca their home: "Ankaeus at the orange-grove", by Robert Graves, and the "Fable of the poet on the island", by Camilo José Cela; as well as an interview with the painter and sculptor Joan Bennàssar by Felip Munar i Munar.
